Blaine County is a full service sheriff’s office providing all aspects of law enforcement: patrol, detention, search and rescue, disaster services, Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team (SERT), driver’s licensing, civil processing, DARE/PAL/SRO, marine division, prisoner transport, community service programs, records, and emergency dispatching for the entire Blaine County area.
The Wood River Valley is a unique area, covering 2600 square miles, which ranges from agriculture in the southern part of the county to a mountainous world class ski resort in the northern end of the valley. Life in the high desert valleys and alpine mountains means pure, clean air and access to camping, hiking, fishing, big game hunting, boating, snowmobiling, and world class skiing.
Our territory includes the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, Sun Valley Resort and nearby Craters of the Moon National Monument. With over 1.2 million visitor days per year, tourists travel from all over the world to enjoy our beautiful mountains and the many activities that are offered here. Our challenge is to stay one step ahead of a growing vibrant community. We strive to serve our community’s needs and protect the quality of life we all enjoy.
