Noxious Weeds


Our mission is to protect Blaine County and its property owners from the harmful impacts of Noxious Weeds using Integrated Pest Management (IPM) control measures such as bio-control, cultural or manual methods, and herbicide control.

Additionally, we assist the public with identification and control methods for noxious weeds within Blaine County.

Noxious Weed Ordinance

Effective March 02, 2016, the Blaine County Board of Commissioners passed Noxious Weed Ordinance 2016:01 (PDF), prohibiting the sale, planting, or possession of Yew.

Fatal Plants

Many noxious weeds are pretty, but they quickly take over. Some of these plants are even poisonous, like Poison Hemlock which can be fatal to livestock if eaten.
