On Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at approximately 6:50 p.m., a Blaine County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a report of a possibly intoxicated driver traveling eastbound on US Highway 20 from the Highway 75 junction in Blaine County, Idaho.
Once the vehicle was located near milepost 184, the deputy identified Jan Marie Brown, age 49 of Featherville, Idaho as the driver and sole occupant of the grey 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe. The deputy witnessed signs of intoxication and initiated field sobriety tests. Brown was subsequently arrested for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (Excessive), which is defined as having an alcohol concentration of .20 or more.
During booking, it was discovered that Brown had a previous Excessive DUI conviction in 2017, making this her second Excessive DUI in 5 years which constitutes a felony. Brown was charged with felony Driving Under the Influence, I.C. 18-8004(C)(2). Brown was arraigned before the Blaine County Magistrate Court Thursday, October 10, 2019, and later released on a $10,000 bond.
