On Wednesday, January 1, 2020, at approximately 4:00 a.m., deputies from the Ketchum Police Divison of the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash on Sage Road in the Warm Springs area of Ketchum, Idaho. Deputies discovered a power pole hanging over the hood of a 2020 Chevy Malibu on the north side of the road with power lines dangling five feet above the road. The driver was not in the vehicle or at the scene when deputies arrived. Officers shut down the road for public safety and proceeded to investigate the crash.

Oppenheimer, age 73 of Boise, Idaho, and his passenger, Esther B. Oppenheimer, also age 73 of Boise, Idaho, were both wearing their seatbelts and were not injured in the collision.
