On Friday, March 13, 2020, two men were arrested in connection with burglaries that occurred on at least two ranches in Carey, Idaho.
Leslie A. Mabrey, age 59 of Elk Bend, Idaho and Shawn C, Horner, age 38 of Linton, North Dakota were stopped in a white 2003 Chevrolet Suburban and arrested in Lincoln County, Idaho by the Idaho State Police after a witness reported seeing one of the thefts. Subsequently, Mabrey and Horner have each been charged in Blaine County for one felony count, I.C. 18-1401. Detectives from the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office are working with the Idaho State Police to compile a full list of items stolen in an apparent burglary spree across several counties. Stolen items that have been identified so far include a saddle, saddle stand, multiple hunting bows, and at least one firearm.
Horner was arraigned Monday and is being held in the Blaine County Detention Center on a $10,000 Blaine County bond and a $10,000 Lincoln County bond. Mabrey is currently awaiting arraignment and is being held on a $25,000 Blaine County bond, a $25,000 Lincoln County bond, and an out of state warrant. The case remains under investigation.
