On Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at approximately 11:07 p.m., as part of a Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) investigation, a Blaine County Sheriff’s Office deputy initiated a traffic stop.
A white 2012 Chevrolet Malibu with four occupants, including a female driver, a male passenger, and two minor children was stopped on Highway 75 near Woodside Blvd. in Bellevue, Idaho. Upon investigation, the front seat passenger, Abel Dominguez Rivera, age 33 of Hailey, Idaho, was arrested and charged with one felony count of Trafficking Methamphetamine, I.C. 27-3732B(4)(A), one felony count of Fugitive to Idaho, 19-4513, and one misdemeanor count of Possession of Paraphernalia, IC. 37-2734A. Due to the close proximity of the children to the drugs and paraphernalia, Dominguez Rivera was also charged with two felony counts of Injury to a Child, I.C. 18-1501. Dominguez Rivera also had a felony warrant from the state of Nevada.
Dominguez Rivera was arraigned Thursday, June 4, 2020, in Magistrate Court where a bond was set at $290,000. He remains in the custody of the Blaine County Detention Center. BCSO K9 Eric assisted in the investigation.
