On Saturday, October 10, 2020, at approximately 3:51 p.m., Blaine County Sheriff deputies responded to a technical rescue involving a motor vehicle accident near Cove Creek off Slaughter House Creek in Blaine County, Idaho.
Crash scene investigation determined that Terry J. Williams, age 64 of Caldwell, Idaho, lost control of a four-wheel offroad vehicle while navigating a downward slope and exited the trail into a draw. Williams was ejected from the vehicle and sustained injuries.
Due to the remoteness of the crash location, a technical medical team from Big Wood Fire was called out to assist. However, the EMT utility terrain vehicle was unable to get to the crash location. BCSO Deputies and EMT crews transported Willams by hand via a backboard and rescue cage to the top of the draw, where he was loaded onto the UTV, and then later transported to St. Luke’s Wood River Medical Center via ground ambulance.
