On Friday, November 6, 2020, at approximately 4:36 a.m., Blaine County Sheriff deputies responded to a report of an individual calling for help from a vehicle on Main Street in Ketchum, Idaho.
Deputies located the individual a short time later in connection with a crash on Highway 75 near East Fork Rd. at milepost 123. Crash scene investigation determined that Jason Glenn Dana, age 38, was driving a tan 1998 Mercury Mystique southbound on Hwy 75 when he lost control, traveled off the west side of the highway, spinning down an embankment and stopping in a barrow ditch. The vehicle sustained substantial damages.
While speaking with deputies, Dana exhibited erratic behavior and was taken to the hospital for evaluation. During a tow inventory of his vehicle, deputies discovered controlled substances and paraphernalia. Dana was subsequently arrested and charged with felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, I.C. 37-2732(C)(1), and four misdemeanors, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, I.C. 37-2734A(1), Driving Under the Influence-Second Offense, I.C. 18-8004, Driving without Privileges, I.C. 18-8001, and Transporting an Open Container of Alcohol, I.C. 23-505.
Dana is scheduled for arraignment in Magistrate Court Monday, November 9, 2020.
