On Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at approximately 9:21 p.m., a Blaine County Sheriff deputy initiated a traffic stop on a black 2008 Ford F150 on State Highway 75 near Baseline Road, south of Bellevue, Idaho for excessive speed.
Upon stopping the vehicle, the deputy observed drugs and drug paraphernalia in plain view, which led to a search of the vehicle.
Upon investigation, the driver, Joseph Elmo Carlisle, age 43 of Colorado City, Arizona was subsequently arrested and charged with one felony count of Possession of a Controlled Substance Marijuana More Than 3 Ounces, I.C. 37-2732(E), and one misdemeanor count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, I.C. 37-2734A(1).
Carlisle is in the custody of the Blaine County Detention Center pending arraignment at 1:30 p.m. today in Magistrate Court. The other three occupants of the vehicle were released without charges.
