On October 14, 2018 at approximately 9:38 a.m. Blaine County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a two vehicle accident on Hwy 75 at Milepost 158, near the top of Galena Summit. The driver of a 2007 silver Chevrolet pickup, Ann M. Wartman,
....age 50 of Meridian, Idaho, told deputies she was traveling southbound when she lost control at the top of the summit and slid into the northbound lane, striking a 2006 white Ford F350 pickup, with a 18’ long horse trailer with horses inside, driven by Cindy A. Gochnour, age 58 of Kimberly, Idaho. The road conditions at the top of the summit were icy.
The Chevrolet pickup driven by Wartman, struck Gochnour’s Ford pickup on the driver side and continued contact to the horse trailer, removing the trailer’s wheels. Gochnour’s vehicle suffered minor damages to the driver’s side. Gochnour’s horse trailer suffered moderate damages. Wartman was transported, by Ketchum Ambulance to St. Luke’s in Ketchum and was later released. Wartman’s three other passengers were uninjured. Wartman’s vehicle suffered severe damages and was towed from the scene. The horses appeared to be uninjured. All parties involved were wearing their seatbelts. The accident is under investigation.
