On Saturday, November 12, 2022, at approximately 1:02 a.m., Blaine County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence in the Meadows Trailer Park, south of Ketchum, Idaho for a report of a possible domestic battery.
Upon investigation, it was determined that James Steven Buntain, age 58 of Ketchum, Idaho, had reportedly threatened his girlfriend with a Smith and Wesson 9 mm. handgun and fired the weapon into the floor during an argument. Buntain was arrested for felony Aggravated Assault, 18-905, and felony Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm at a Dwelling, I.C. 18-3317.
Buntain was arraigned in Magistrate Court on Monday, November 14, 2022, where a combined bond of $4,000 was ordered by the Judge. At press time, Buntain was still in the custody of the Blaine County Detention Center.
