On Thursday January 10th, 2019 Dillon Dugger, age 29 of Boise, Idaho was transferred into the custody of the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office on three felony warrants out of Blaine County.
These warrants stemmed from an armed standoff that occurred with Dugger and Blaine County Sheriff deputies on November 16, 2018 near the Picabo Angler Store. The incident began when Dugger and a 34 year old female were involved in a reported domestic violence situation. Deputies immediately responded. When Dugger, who was armed, failed to comply with officers the incident turned into a standoff that lasted for nearly 4 hours.
After several tense hours the standoff eventually ended peacefully and Dugger was taken into custody. Dugger is currently incarcerated at the Blaine County Detention Facility on four felony charges, Aggravated Assault, I.C. 18-901(b) 18-905(a), Attempted Strangulation, I.C. 18-923, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, I.C. 18-3316. A new charge of Grand Theft by possession of stolen property, I.C. 18-2407 was included at his arraignment. The total bond amount for Dugger’s Blaine County charges is set at $200,000.
“This was a very dangerous and volatile incident. Yet from a law enforcement perspective, it was a successful incident on many levels. Blaine County Sheriff’s deputies and assisting officers worked hard to ensure public safety, subject safety, and officer safety,” stated Sheriff Steve Harkins.
