On Saturday, July 22, 2023, at approximately 2:59 p.m., Blaine County Sheriff’s deputies were notified of a citizen complaint of a reckless driver on State Highway 75 near Deer Creek Rd. in Hailey, Idaho.
Based on the description of the vehicle, officers were able to locate the driver and perform a traffic stop.
Upon investigation, Marlene Lisbet Perez, age 42 of Hailey, Idaho, was arrested and charged with felony Driving Under the Influence – Excessive, 18-18-8004C, and misdemeanor Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol in a Vehicle, I.C. 23-505(2).
Perez has a prior DUI Excessive conviction in Blaine County on 2/10/2020, making this her second excessive within 5 years and a felony. An excessive DUI is defined as an alcohol concentration of .20 or higher by analysis of blood, breath, or urine.
Perez was arraigned in Magistrate Court on July 24, 2023, where a combined bond of $15,000 was ordered. Perez has been released on bond and is currently scheduled to appear in court on August 1, 2023.
