On Saturday, December 9, 2023, at approximately 5:29 p.m., Blaine County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a two-vehicle collision on State Highway 75 between East Fork Rd. and Golden Eagle Rd., south of Ketchum, Idaho.
Crash scene investigation determined that a 1994 Kenworth semi-truck with a trailer, driven by a 55-year-old male from Hailey, Idaho, was traveling southbound on Hwy 75. Also traveling southbound was a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica driven by a 59-year-old female from Ketchum, Idaho. As both the southbound lanes merged in the area of Golden Eagle Rd., the front of the Pacifica collided with the flatbed trailer.
The driver of the Pacific had to be extricated from her vehicle and was transported to Wood River Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Her vehicle sustained severe front-end damage and was towed from the scene. The driver of the semi-truck declined medical attention and drove his truck with minor damage to the trailer from the scene. Both vehicles were insured.
Hwy 75 was shut down in both directions temporarily until deputies could establish one alternating lane of travel control.
