On Saturday February 2, 2019, Jodi L. Petty, age 48 of Fairfield, Idaho was arrested by the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant for four counts of sexual contact with a prisoner, I.C. 18-6110, all felonies.
In December of 2018, an investigation began at the Blaine County Detention Center. Jodi Petty was employed as a kitchen worker by Summit Food Services, a company which provides food services to the Blaine County Detention Center. Per our contractual agreement with Summit Food Services, inmates are provided to assist their employees with food preparation and cleanup. While assisting, these inmates are supervised by the Summit Kitchen Staff. Video surveillance and on duty deputies are also watching their movements. Suspicious behavior between Petty and a male inmate was noticed by detention staff. Petty’s security clearance to work inside the Detention Center was revoked and the inmate was removed from kitchen duties.
Upon completion, the facts of the investigation supported a warrant for Petty’s arrest for incidents allegedly occurring in a storage area. The warrant bond was set at $25,000. Petty was booked into the Blaine County Detention Center and then bonded out. She will be arraigned at a future court hearing. Petty is no longer employed by Summit Food Services.
